Ashleigh De Lima [BA (Wits) LLB (UNISA)] did her articles at Deneys Reitz Inc. and was admitted as an attorney in 2002. She practiced as an Associate Labour Law specialist with Deneys Reitz Inc. For four years before joining Resolve Workplace Solutions as a Senior Labour Law Consultant in 2006.
In this capacity, Ashleigh worked extensively for Transnet Limited, and was offered a permanent position as Manager: Group Employee Relations with the parastatal in 2007. As an Employee Relations specialist, Ashleigh managed Transnet's extensive discipline and grievance issues, and was part of a team which managed various collective labour law interventions in a highly unionised environment, until April 2010 when Accord Labour Solutions was founded. Ashleigh continues to work for Transnet on a part-time basis.
Her comprehensive work experience includes drafting of all employment-related contracts and agreements, as well as progressive HR policies and procedures, advising clients on all aspects of both individual and collective labour law, labour negotiations and consultations, working closely with forensic investigators in high profile disciplinary matters, presenting training courses to corporate clients on the disciplinary process, chairing and initiating disciplinary enquiries as well as conducting labour due diligence exercises and audits of disciplinary codes and procedures on behalf of clients. She has also represented largely corporate clients at arbitration proceedings, and has extensive litigation experience at the CCMA, as well as various bargaining councils.
